"It's just you and me daughter." - What I heard in service when I was intimidated to sing out. Instead I sang out anyway. I want to step out and just do it anyway, no matter the situation. If I'm called to go, just go. I pray God gives me the strength and courage most of all to do it. One of the most awkward moments at church is when they ask you to shake hands or welcome the people around you. Why is this so awkward to me? I keep thinking … just do it anyway (which I do), but why not try not only doing it anyway, but doing it big. Let's not shake the hands of two people, break contact and sit down quietly with your head down busying yourself with whatever you've got around you because you're weirded out. Keep walking. Start talking. This would be stepping out of my comfort zone in a huge way. If this small amount of people makes me nervous, what will I do when I get to Heaven?! I wanted to crawl into my daddy's arms today. I wanted to curl up on his lap and drink in the moment, breathe in the peace.
"You are loved."
"You are wanted."
What will you do when your faith is tested? Will you have faith anyway? Will you wait on the Lord when you life depends on it, or the life of your child depends on it? For one local family, the answer is yes.
Josh and Lindsey Belt of Jennings, La., are standing at the foot of the cross in faith trusting God. Their two-year-old son, Joel, was diagnosed with severe primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH). After 42 days in three different hospitals, Joel was sent home with intensive medication with hope alone to improve his quality of life. There is no cause found for why Joel has PPH, therefore there is no cure. His parents face the options of medicine for life or a double lung transplant. His parents have founded Color Phor A Cure, to raise awareness and research funds for PHA's Dr. Robyn J. Barst Pediatric Research and Mentoring Fund for Pulmonary Hypertension, which is the only pediatric PH research fund in the United States.
